HMP Liverpool Chaplaincy receive books

£435 given to the Chaplaincy department of HMP Liverpool by St Luke's Church, Crosby.

When the chaplain showed Colin (who gives a book to each of the men who complete the Alpha course) the inadequate chaplaincy resources, Colin knew he needed to act.  He applied for a grant via his church where he runs their bookstall. He chose relevant books to a prison library and handed them over to the Managing Chaplain Rev Tony Davies.  Tony says 'Prisoners often feel they have been rejected and forgotten by their communities. Knowing that despite the bad things they have done there are still people who think, pray and care for them is a very touching and deep felt emotion.'

Speaking Volumes always looks favourably on grants for prison libraries.
